I woke up from sleep recently with a thought:
Amassing power in this world is a lot like being a great gladiator in Roman times. You are renown worldwide. You are given riches, women, and a great many perks. You possess great skill in your craft and yet…
You are still a slave.
You are still not a true member of the kingdom.
You are still not free to walk about as you wish.
You still have someone’s branding on your body.
In fact, ALL that you have accumulated as a gladiator ends up being the very things that distracts you from the Truth:
YOU ARE NOT AND WILL NEVER BE FREE.
You are a slave, forever and always, so long as you accept your current state and continue to do your master’s bidding.
Obedience does not require Sight nor Understanding.Lifwisdom
Today, God has put on my heart to post an entry from my journal. This is one that I wrote back in May 2016.
What if THIS LIFE isn’t really about what we THINK it is?
What if TRUE REALITY is the opposite of everything this world has taught us?
What if “your” life really isn’t about you? What if it’s about providing a service to everyone else?
What if it’s about community rather than singularity? What if every individual was willing to live not for themselves but ONLY for everyone else? What if each one of us was willing to die for any one of us?
What if eternal life wasn’t just an idea?
What if we weren’t trapped in a system designed to enslave us and turn us against one another? What if were free? What if we are free?
What if we finally DECIDED to open our eyes and see the truth? What if the truth was WITHIN rather than without?
What if heaven was the result of an understanding rather than a destination?
What if we are here only to bring others to that understanding? What if we were to GROW UP and embrace that understanding?
What if that understanding was the key to our freedom and independence rather than science, technology or politics?
What if this was the ONLY way?
Everyone of us, at some point in our lives, have heard someone advise “be humble”. In fact, we ourselves might have passed on that same wisdom to others. Many times however, this advice is offered simply as a survival tip, but is there more to it than that? Is being humble merely the act of lowering ourselves in the eyes of others so as to avoid the social consequences of this world, or is it a transformation, a metamorphosis of the self? If we’re being honest, we already know that it’s the latter. Humility pertains to a true self-transformation rather than a deception of oneself and an appeal to others. Two questions then remain, how does one be-come humble and who is the true judge of our humility?
“[True] Humility is the acceptance that we are created beings, made by God, The Creator of all things.”
It is my opinion that existence as we know it is all about choice. More importantly ONE choice; one from which all subsequent others are made. That choice is one of identity. It presents itself as the question that plagues us, demanding that we seek out an answer; Who Am I? What is my identity? Many have consciously forgotten about this question and have consequently on a subconscious level sought out its potential answers in the accumulation of things; wealth, pleasure, power etc. Others, either through wisdom or experience, understand that “the truth [isn’t] out there” but rather it is within. With regards to identity, is there such a thing as an “Authentic Identity” and if so, how are we authenticated? Let us examine these questions.
“Authentic Identity is the remaining in sameness of a genuine, and real self in the exact likeness of (…) in our nature and quality.”
It has been about a year since my last post. Much has changed in that time and simultaneously, nothing has changed. My path, just as before, is still one of searching, seeking, of something perceived, yet not easily attained because of the distraction of this world- the already ingrained dogmas I’ve already accepted as Truth. What I seek nothing less than a total metamorphosis akin to the caterpillar turning into butterfly. I know that identity exists, I’ve seen it. God saw it wise to show me my butterfly identity, the one that is as “gold tried in the fire,” (Rev 3:18) the one able to soar the skies, becoming a new being with a new mind and a new perspective drastically different from my former self. A perspective that is in His image, in His likeness.
This past year has been abundant in lessons, tests, and epiphanies, all leading me to understand the importance of this LIFWISDOM page I started on impulse. I realize that I do have an important message to share with the world, to those who would listen. As I observe the world, I can see for myself what I later read and understood from Revelation 3: 17: we think that we are “rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that [we] [are] wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.” We have become a society submerged in ambiguity and total absence of authentic identity. We, collectively and individually, have forgotten who we really are. It is for this reason that I have changed the slogan of my page to “A Path To The Real You”.
My goal is to, as often as possible, write on different, everyday topics from a new perspective to invoke thought and meditation. I will also share my thoughts, insights, and questions I ponder at any given time, as an alternate means of communicating and fellowship. This will be done to help all of us who are and should be “asking, seeking and knocking” to find something we can add to our tool bag on the path to our true selves.
Welcome To LIFWISDOM!
A book I read recently suggested that the Universe, and everything in existence, originated from a single entity. That everything is derived from an all-encompassing essence, including sentient beings such as us, Humans. As I lay here in bed prepared to fall into slumber, the word Unity permeated my being; its meaning, its true essence. I pondered for a moment on the word Unity, and realized that the times we, as humans, are happiest or in the most blissful state are when we are united or feel as such; united with one individual in companionship or friendship, united in a family, united in a society or culture coinciding with the inherent but often unknown essence of what makes us happy. In fact, we desire and go to great lengths to acquire or fulfill this sense of belonging. I dare suggest that it’s because we are all individual parts of a whole, in essence, “in spirit”. Ponder for a moment on these aforementioned instances in which we feel united. Even from our most limited perspective, you’ll find that we are always referring to a Unity Unseen. This Unity Unseen is manifested in natural ways allowing us to perceive it with our senses, but upon some reflection we find that such manifestation is but secondary to the true UNITY that already exists in the UNSEEN. For example, when we desire to feel close to someone, what we are truly seeking is not simply to be physically near them. For even if they perform the most profound actions of love and comfort, absent of the unseen truth behind it, we can perceive the hollowness of those actions and are left feeling empty. Now, if we feel so compelled to be One, Whole or United, and have yet to achieve the state where it is manifested in the natural, this next question begs asking. Is there something, somehow interfering or opposing the very idea of us being united? If so why? And also, how does this force go about interfering as it were with this innate, powerful force of UNITY? The latter of these questions will be the focus of today’s topic.
